Gottfried Helnwein, who has exhibited all over the world, is showing a number of large-scale, photograph-like canvases depicting gorgeous European and American landscapes at the gallery until September 4th.
Helnwein, who was born in 1948 and educated in post-war Vienna, divides his time between County Tipperary and Los Angeles in the United States.
His paintings draw upon the beauty and drama of these contrasting environments as well as revealing the parallels of different terrains.
His landscapes were described as "gorgeous" and "pure delicious spectacle" by the exhibitions officer at te Crawford, Dawn Williams.
