Bodily Notions is a gathering of 5 painters who utilize the figure as form with the context as the point. From the delicate but powerful narrative space of Laura Lasworth, the dramatic figures of Gottfried Helnwein which play on ideas of darkness and innocence, Christopher Murphy's obsessive examination of friends' bodies lost in vacant spaces, Brian Mains' figures trapped in cycles of birth/destruction/redemption and Enjeong Noh's fleshy, private moments. Each figure, exquisitely rendered, presents a primal debate about their humanity to the viewer.
