“ALBERTINA Contemporary Art” at Albertina Museum, Vienna
To be unveiled on July 12, “ALBERTINA Contemporary Art” shows the works of around 80 artists that includes works by artists such as Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter, Gottfried Helnwein, Georg Baselitz, Alex Katz, and Maria Lassnig. The show offers to its viewers a comprehensive and wide selection of art that represent its diverse forms post-1945 artistic stances.

The Albertina Museum will host a show on contemporary art showcasing works from its collection that encompasses creations from the second half of the 20th century to the present times.
The exhibition is drawn from the museum’s own collection.
To be unveiled on July 12, “ALBERTINA Contemporary Art” shows the works of around 80 artists that includes works by artists such as Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter, Gottfried Helnwein, Georg Baselitz, Alex Katz, and Maria Lassnig. The show offers to its viewers a comprehensive and wide selection of art that represent its diverse forms post-1945 artistic stances.

“Key works illustrate international trends running from hyperrealism to abstraction and from color-aesthetic to political themes, thereby exemplifying the multifaceted artistic output of the past several decades,” writes Albertina.

New acquisitions by the museum, which includes works by Brigitte Kowanz, Kiki Smith, Los Carpenteros, Frenzi Rigling, Rainer Wolzl, and Franz Gertsch, are a special highlight of the exhibit.

The rich holdings of contemporary art at the Albertina Museum includes paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculptures.

“ALBERTINA Contemporary Art” will be on view from July 12, 2018, until March 31, 2019, at the Albertina Museum, Albertinaplatz 1, 1010 Vienna, Austria.
